On Saturday morning, Florida Highway Patrol officers stopped the 23-year old for speeding. He was clocked at doing 110 M.P.H. where the speed limit was set at 70 M.P.H. A news release from the FHP stated that he was pulled over around 9:30 A.M. on Saturday morning. He was driving his 2013 Mercedes at the time of his arrest.
He was handcuffed and charged with wreckless driving and speeding. This is the second time this has happened to Puig, who was arrested in Chattanooga, Tennessee back in April for a similar offense. However he was able to get those charges dropped by convincing the judge he had performed community service in Los Angeles.
The Dodgers may get concerned over this latest problem, as this is now his second arrest in just eight months for essentially the same thing. Mix that with repeated violations of on-field basis, and this could e a potential issue. They have not commented on this as of yet, but you can bet they're figuring out how to handle it with as little amount of backfire as possible.
Puig finished second in the National League Rookie of the Year Award voting this season after hitting .319 with 19 home runs and 42 RBIs in 104 games for the Dodgers.
