Sad news out of California as the Washington Post reported on Sept. 26, 2013, that a fan wearing a Dodgers fan suffered a stab wound in a fight after a game with the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night. A fight broke out between Dodgers fans and Giants fans near AT&T Park around 11:30 pm PDT, and the Dodgers fan ended up dying because of his wounds.
The fan has been identified as 24-year-old Jonathan Denver, and he was involved in the altercation between fans of both teams.
It appears as if Denver was walking away from AT&T Park with his father and brother when a verbal argument became very violent. Reports state at least 10 people were involved in the fight when Denver got stabbed and later died at Sn Francisco General Hospital.
Witnesses state that three people have been detained by police and other witnesses are being interviewed about the whole situation.
Another game is scheduled for Thursday night. The staff of the Giants are contemplating increasing security at the park.
“We’re obviously very concerned about the situation,” Giants spokesperson Staci Slaughter told the Chronicle, “and trying to understand exactly what happened.”
