For now Mattingly will continue to go as planned with starter Ricky Nolasco on Tuesday night. In the NLDS against the Atlanta Braves, Nolasco was scheduled to start game 4, however a last second change scratched him for the line up and Clayton Kershaw replaced him.
There is still talk and many wonder if Mattingly will scratch Nolasco again for pitcher Zack Greinke. Greinke threw approximately a dozen pitches in a simulated bullpen session yesterday, could be a go if Mattingly changes his decision.
Nolasco was acquired in a trade mid season from the Miami Marlins, and finished the season with an 8-3 record with a 3.5 ERA. Nolasco has pitched better at home than he has on the road this season.
Nolasco would have some offensive help with Andre Ethier and Hanley Ramirez in the line up tonight again for the Dodgers.
Lance Lynn will start for the Cards tonight, which is the easiest of the pitchers the Dodgers will face in their semi difficult pitching line up.
