Thanks to Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF), major league baseball stadiums host an annual dog walk in their stadiums. In partnership with Nylabone, AvoDerm, Petco, and the American Pet Products Association's Pets Add Life (PAL) campaign, ARF brings "Bark at the Park" events to Major League Baseball.
For the Los Angeles Dodgers, "Bark in the Park" was Aug. 23, 2014, as the Dodgers faced the New York Mets. Fans who shared the game with their furry friends purchased a special ticket to walk their dogs in a pre-game "pup rally" and parade, with the proceeds benefiting ARF and other rescue group partners.
Tickets for Bark at the Park events can be purchased through team websites and ticket offices. Looking for a Bark in the Park near you? Here's the schedule for the rest of the season:
- 9/8/14 Chicago White Sox Bark at the Park
- 9/14/14 New York Mets Bark at the Park
- 9/18/14 Colorado Rockies Bark at the Park
Planning to attend? Each stadium has its own requirements for proof of vaccinations, weight limits, and other particulars. Before you hit the gates, be sure to visit the website or call the ticket office for details. If you don't live close enough to a major league stadium, check out similar events at your nearest minor league baseball stadium.
