Two men have been arrested in the stabbing death of a Dodgers fan outside AT&T Stadium after Wednesday night's game. The Dodgers fan, 24-year-old Jonathan Denver, was stabbed after a fight broke out between the Dodgers and Giants fans according to the L.A. Times on Sept. 26.
Denver and a friend were attacked outside the stadium after the game. The other man, whose name has not been released, was bruised after being beaten. Denver was transported to San Francisco General Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival from a stab wound.
The two men arrested are not identified as of yet, but their ages are 18 and 21, report San Francisco Police. The man who died was wearing Dodgers gear. The fight broke out after someone made a comment about the Dodgers gear.
Police did not comment on a motive for this fight and it is not known it the people arrested were wearing Giants gear. The two teams have a rivalry going back decades. Police say Wednesday night’s fight had at least 10 people involved. One man pulled out a knife and another pulled out a bat.
Police are continuing interviewing witnesses as this investigation continues. It is not known what charges the two men are facing.
