Smashing the previously held record by more than one second, the 2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR shattered the Laguna Seca lap record for production vehicles. Driven by SRT engineer Chris Winkler, the Viper broke the lap record by pushing the limits. Even with a couple of errors, the Viper was still able to decimate the previous record. This is a great day for Dodge and Viper fans like. A new statement of speed from Chrysler is out there, and it's mopping up just like the old days. How was it able to beat the previous record? Easily, by having more power and exceptional handling. By making use of the additional down force provided by the ACR package, the 2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 can nimbly tackle the various corners and cambers of Laguna. Only slipping tires a few times, the extreme stability of this high powered rear wheel drive super car is displayed.

Powered by a V10 engine with 600 horsepower at 6100 RPM and 560 foot pounds of torque at 5000 RPM, it can quickly pull out of the corners and regain speed. A six speed manual transmission keeps the 3,366 pound super snake twisting and curving through the challenges. With a top speed of 184 miles per hour, this Viper is specifically designed to stick to the road and handle corners. Not a top speed monster by any means, but it sure can corner well! That's what wins most track races, the market this vehicle targets. Well done Chrysler, yet another victory!
