While there is still good snow at the top of the mountain, there isn't much lower down. With those conditions, they made the call to close.
Right now, the closure is more of a "hiatus". If the snows return and are robust enough, they will start spinning the lifts for as long as possible.
This has been and up and down season for Dodge Ridge. The down part is the lack of snow. The up part is their ski team and loyal skiers who call the trails at Dodge Ridge home.
The Dodge Ridge Race Team held onto the Silver Cup in the Far West Central Series. They clinched the cup on March 4 at China Peak. This is the 4th year in a row that the cup has had a home at Dodge Ridge.
On March 8 the resort raised money for Habitat for Humanity of Tuolumne County, as they "...proudly hosted the annual Ski, Ride & Play for Habitat and the Taste of Tuolumne with over 150 participants enjoying a festive day featuring an all-mountain Vertical Feet Challenge on the slopes followed by great regional food and drink while raising nearly $11,000 for the benefit of Habitat for Humanity of Tuolumne County," according to their press release.
Season passes are on sale now for the 2014-2015 ski season. As always, early birds get the best deal.
