Tuesday, Feb 5, the Dodd City Lady Hornets finished their district run with a perfect 8-0 by defeating the Roxton Lady Lions on the road.
Hornets’ Keeshia Thompson led the game with 19 points, Jenna Wallace had 13 points, Lauren Hillard 11 points, Biann Hilliard 9 points, Misty Goodin 6 points, Katelynn Wodlee 3points, and Aubrey Carpenter 1 point. The Lady Hornets are coached by Ashley Anderson and Ashley McCain.
After the first quarter, the Hornets were up 19-4 against Roxton and 36-13 by the half. The Lady Hornets began the fourth quarter leading 53-27 and ended the night with a 62-37 win.
Dodd City clenched their district title earlier in the week with a close win against their district rival, the Ector Lady Eagles, with the Lady Hornets 44-40 against the Lady Eagles.
The Dodd City Lady Hornets basketball team is undefeated in district and ends the regular season 24-4.
Saturday, Feb 9, at 10:30 a.m. the Lady Hornets will host Sam Rayburn in a warm-up game in Royse City.
