Carl Panzram was a lifelong criminal and serial killer who claims to have raped, murdered, and stolen from many people throughout his lifetime. Panzram served time in numerous prisons and jails across the country. While incarcerated in the Washington, D.C. jail, Panzram befriended a young officer who encouraged him to write him memoirs using contraband paper and pencil smuggled in by the officer. What Panzram wrote is chilling; it begs to answer the question; is a criminal made, or born? Several noted professionals are interviewed on camera. Panzram’s diary is featured in the film, along with an exclusive interview with the officer who befriended this frightening man.
