The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special titled 'Day of the Doctor' will be airing in 3D around 1:50 Central Time on Sat Nov 23, exactly 50 years after the first episode broadcast. To celebrate the momentous occasion, it was revealed that the special will be simulcast into select theaters across the globe.
This morning, tickets have gone on sale. But where? According to a representative at Fathom Events, who are presenting the special, there will only be two locations in the Chicagoland area that will be participating in the Real 3D simulcast: the Century 12 in Evanston and the Cinemark at Seven Bridges in Woodridge. Many other locations will be showing the special the following Monday but not the simulcast.
Tickets went on sale at 8AM (at $11.50, after service charge), so don't hesitate or you may miss out on the biggest global event Whovians have ever had the opportunity to take part in.
'The Day of the Doctor' stars Matt Smith, David Tennant, and John Hurt as The Doctor. The companions Rose and Clara will be played once again by Billie Piper and Jenna Coleman.
