A Doctor was killed in his office yesterday afternoon in California. The Huffington Post reported earlier today that Dr. Ronald Gilbert was shot in an examination room at his office. Several 911 calls made late yesterday afternoon reported multiple gunshots had been fired. When police arrived they found the victim, already deceased, in his office with another man, the alleged gunman.
The incident took place at an outpatient practice near Hoag Hospital in Orange County, and though investigators were unclear on the relationship between the gunman and the Doctor shot at the office, he is believed to be a patient. Members of the media reported seeing police officers exit the building with an elderly man, thought to be around 70-years-old, in custody.
Kristen Cotty, who works at a lab one floor above the office where Dr. Gilbert was killed, said "she thought the gunfire was construction noises."
"What's going on with the world today? I mean, schools, now I got to worry about going to work. This has got to stop."
According to a news report at KTLA channel 5, Dr. Gilbert has two teenage sons. He was 52-years-old.
