Doc Rivers squashes Blake Griffin for Carmelo Anthony trade rumors

NBA trade rumors have been pretty fierce lately, with a Blake Griffin for Carmelo Anthony trade making major headlines. According to Sporting News on January 5, Doc Rivers says literally that the rumors are "stupid."

Blake Griffin trade rumors have been circulating since last season. It's confusing as to why the Clippers would want to give up their Chris Paul and Blake Griffin duo. The pair have amazing chemistry and the team is doing very well.

On the other hand, there are also rumors that Carmelo Anthony is unhappy with the New York Knicks and is looking for an out. That is not surprising, as the team is not having a great season so far.

Although some trade decisions are surprising and come even after much denial, even the Huffington Post thinks a Griffin/Anthony trade is a bad deal for the Clippers. Griffin tends to be more of a team player with higher efficiency while Anthony tends to keep the ball to himself. Also, Griffin is young and still in the uptick and Anthony is at his peak.

In any case, Blake Griffin leaving the Los Angeles Clippers would be detrimental to the team. The fans love him, the players love him and he is just fun to watch. Let's hope these rumors die and we can can keep cheering for Lob City.
