On June 14th, SF Doc Fest will participate in the west coast premiere of "the definitive zombie culture documentary" at the Roxie Theatre, followed by a ghoulish party around the corner at 518 Valencia.
The film discusses the history and impact of zombies in culture, featuring interviews with such undead notables as Max Brooks, George A. Romero, Simon Pegg and Robert Kirkman. They'll discuss things like zombie walks, the very real string of "bath salts" cannibalism attacks, survival strategies and why zombies are so popular these days.
There's another Roxie showing the 17th, and the actual west coast premiere at Oakland School for the Arts on Saturday, Jun 7 at 9:30. Tickets for all three shows are available here, but only one night will be followed by the "Dead Man's Party" with drink specials at the bar, dancing and a costume contest. Special price for the movie and the party is supposed to be $15 but seems unavailable on the party's ticket page.
