Do you want to increase your self-confidence? Then keep your commitments

According to the many definitions of self-confidence on Google, it is the ability to believe in one own thoughts, beliefs, and values, and then to take action for them. In this case, it is all keeping your own commitments and taking action in what you believe is right.

When you speak, don’t you tend to only say things that are mostly likely match your own thoughts, beliefs, and values? Otherwise why would you waste your breaths and time saying things you do not believe in? So every time you say something and commit to it, and then take action, the higher your self-confidence level will be; even if a negative outcome is the result. Self-confidence is all about taking action in what you believe in.

However, every time you fail to accomplish to do what you are saying, which is your words of commitments to yourself and others, the lower your self-confidence level will be. Even the smallest commitments matter. For example, if you say you are going to be at your friend house at 2pm, and then you came there at 3pm, then your self-confidence level will decrease. When you are not arriving at your friend house at 2pm, then you do not believe in your own words that arriving at your friend house at 2pm is important. When you truly believe in something, you would make sure you will accomplish it. Or if you say you are going to finish reading your book in one week, but did not finish until 3 weeks later, then your confidence will decrease. The longer apart you accomplish something from your commitment, the lower your self-confidence level will be.

In today society, if you have low self-confidence level, the main reason is because you do not keep your words of commitments to yourself and others. The scary thing is that you might not know this is the reason why you have low self-confidence level. The main reason why it is so difficult for you to keep your words of commitments is because you believe at some level that lying is an okay thing. You believe that a little white lie will not hurt anyone. However, the person who is going to get hurt the most when you lie is yourself because you are saying things that you do not believe in. Then it is unlikely for you to keep your words of commitments because you tend to only do things that you believe in. In addition, when you take action for what you do not believe in, your self-confidence level will decrease twice as fast because that is just the opposite of what self-confidence is.

However, not only will you have a lot of self-confidence when you keep your words of commitments, you will realize that you will be able to accomplish so many things in life. Every time you keep your words of commitments, you are telling to the world and most importantly to yourself that you can accomplish anything that you say you will do.

It was discovered that to accomplish anything in life, it is not the lack of knowledge or skill, but it is the lack of keeping your commitments. Have you ever said and set goals to do this and that, but you never seem to be able to accomplish them? The main reason for this is because you cannot seem to keep your own commitments in your daily life. In order to accomplish something big, you have to master the little things first, which are the daily basic things that you set out to do. How are you going to be able to accomplish something big when you cannot accomplish something small?

The moment you keep your words of commitments to accomplish small things in your daily life, you will realize that it will be so easy for you to accomplish your big goals and dreams. In order to accomplish your goals and dreams, you would need to believe in yourself, which means it is depend on how high your self-confidence level is. The more you keep your words of commitment, the higher your self-confidence level will be. With high level of self-confidence, you can achieve anything.

So, if you found out that you have low level of self-confidence, then you want to re-evaluate what you are saying to yourself and others. Are you keeping your words of commitments to yourself and others? Do you tend to say or do things that you do not believe in just to impress others? Do you tend to break your commitments? If you answer yes to at least one of these questions, then you are not keeping your words of commitments to yourself, which means you do not have high level of self-confidence.

When you build the habit of lying to yourself or breaking your commitments in the past, it becomes a habit. In this case, you want to break the habit. And the best way to break the habit is to write down what you are saying and committing to do for yourself and others. And then keep track on how many commitments you fail to accomplish. When you realize that you fail to keep your commitments to yourself and others after seeing on paper, you are more likely to want to change. As human being, it is very difficult for you to want to change a behavior when you do not see it on paper. As you start to keep your commitments to yourself and others, you will feel amazing about yourself. The more amazing you feel about yourself, the more self-confidence you will have.
