Do you use 'The Historical Biographer's Guide to the Research Process?'

As a Springfield family history and genealogy researcher, I find myself drawn more and more to want to learn, use, and follow the best research processes I can find as I approach certain ancestors where there is less definitive information in the available sources. A new tool now available to us as Springfield researchers should be very helpful in achieving this goal. The "QuickSheet: The Historical Biographer's Guide to the Research Process" by Elizabeth Shown Mills is now available from Genealogical.com for only $8.95 plus shipping.

Mills has provided us with the definitive works of genealogy reference materials as well as this series of QuickSheet research guides. I have several of them and find them extreme useful. I was drawn to this new QuickSheet because it relates to the historical biographer, in particular. I have two projects of this type in my queue to work on seriously in coming months.

This Guide provides specific information on four specific models:

  1. The Research Process Model
  2. The Research Analysis Model
  3. The Identity Triangulation Model
  4. The Reliability Model

From the publisher's descriptive material: "If the objective of research is to reach conclusions and establish proof, this QuickSheet will get you to your goal with absolute confidence." Do you feel this guide would be useful to you? I look forward to your comments.
