Do you take work breaks when a seizure happens?

In the world of epilepsy, it affects the nervous system, and there has been a determination of multiple symptoms and seizure types. Because of these various types, each person affected can and will most likely have a different response as well as recovery time. This is a difficult matter on the patient including other persons nearby. How to make the situation easier is to be calm, have patience, and be willing to assist.

In many cases, patients will become tired after experiencing a seizure and feel the need for a time out. The reason for this is that a seizure will force all muscles to tense up due to how signals to the brain operate. This is a medical mystery still under research but it is something that takes place and causes the entire body to become at a loss of energy.

A time out break could be ten to twenty minutes pending upon the seizure severity. When an employer provides a short break to an employee this gives the ability to regain organization. This type of option can be discussed with your employer when first starting work so they are aware how to best help you safely recover and it also keeps open lines of communication.
