Do you remember that night in June? June holidays

It signals the onset of summer, the longest day of the year, Dad’s Day, graduation, baseball and Wimbledon. But were you aware of all the other festive holidays that June has to offer?

We begin on June 3 which is Repeat Day. Then on June 3 we have Repeat Day. And finally, on June 3 we celebrate Repeat Day. Okay, enough of Repeat Day.

June 8 is Name Your Poison Day. Celebrate this one with your friends Jack Daniels, George Dickle and Jim Beam.

Always celebrated June 10, it is National Iced Tea Day.

Iced Tea is the summer refresher of choice and you can sit back and relax with a Southern sweet tea, that herbal tea stuff they sell in a jug in the store or throw all the ingredients in a glass jug and have some Sun Tea.

Sun Tea

6 Bags Tea

Water

Lemons, (Optional)

Throw the tea bags in a large glass container and fill with 2 quarts of water. You can add at this point, lemon slices, orange or lime slices, grapes, sugar or honey.

Close the lid tightly and place outside in the sun.

Allow the tea to steep in the sun for 3-5 hours. Refrigerate and enjoy.

There is also Sewing Machine Day on June 13 and of course don’t forget Flag Day and Father’s Day. On June 16 and 17 we have Fresh Veggie Day and Eat Your Vegetables Day.

If you suffer from Triskaidekaphobia, then TGIF! June 13 is Friday the 13th, and Triskaidekaphobia is the fear of the number 13. Celebrate by taking in a slasher movie and ordering a baker’s dozen of donuts. And order a bad omen cocktail from the bartender.

Black Cat Cocktail

1 Oz. Blue Curacao

1 Oz. Vodka

3 Oz. 7-Up

1 Oz. Cranberry Juice

½ Oz. Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice

Lime Twist

Fill a shaker halfway with ice. Add curacao, vodka and lime juice. Shake until mixed well. Add soda and stir. Pour cranberry juice into a tall glass. Over the back of a spoon, gently strain the mixed ingredients over the cranberry juice, being careful not to completely mix the two for presentation. Serve with a lime twist for garnish.

Don’t panic because June 18 is International Panic Day and right after summer begins, June 22 is National Chocolate Éclairs Day.

Newspapers, magazines and bloggers celebrate National Columnists Day on June 23, Beauticians Day is June 26 and that green lizard with the Australian accent doesn’t want you to forget June 28. It’s National Insurance Coverage Day. Send him a card.

June rounds out with Meteor Day on June 30, but I like to round out the month by combining several different June holidays at once.

So this month I’m taking my favorite beautician out for drinks, a baker’s dozen of éclairs and a slasher movie.
