Do you remember being a girl scout at Christmas and caroling at all the senior care homes? It was like yesterday. We would have our girl scout uniforms on and get ready to go caroling at all the senior homes. That was such fun.
We would go through the halls of each home and sing all the Christmas songs while we held our candles in the dark. We also got the joy of going into the rooms of the seniors that could not get out of bed or out of their room.
The seniors would tell us stories of days and years gone past. It was always a joy to hear those stories. We made the seniors feel so good. They didn’t know it but they made us feel good too. It gave them the time to reminisce and remember the good old days.
Those were good times and great memories of what it was like to be a girl scout at Christmas. Maybe this story will help jog your memory too. May we always remember to spend that extra time with our senior loved ones and especially during the holidays.
