The hunt for Mayahuel’s next killer drink is on and the public is invited to help with the search in an exciting, high-energy live event happening at Mayahuel.
From now until Tuesday, Oct. 8, Mayahuel will accept tequila cocktail recipes from the public submitted via their website. Mayahuel staff will select their favorite six recipes and invite the recipe creators to Mayahuel in a live public mix-off on Friday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m.
At the mix-off, each contestant will make their drinks for a group of judges and the public in attendance who will all vote for their favorite drink. The winner gets their drink featured on the Mayahuel menu, a generous gift card to the restaurant, and can be crowned as the Tequila Mix-off Champion. The winner of the mix-off will also be announced on CBS/CW31’s Good Day Sacramento and have the opportunity to make their drink live in front of all of Sacramento.
Event judges will include Ernesto Delgado, owner/operator at Mayahuel, Charles Connolly, tequila maestro at Mayahuel, and a secret prominent figure from the community to be announced prior to the event. The event will be a high-energy, dynamic competition filmed live by a local production company for release as a Food Network-style video on Mayahuel’s website. Public participation in trying the drinks, voting and cheer- ing on the contestants will be encouraged.
