Mention the word deja vu and almost everyone has a story to share. Whether it's walking into a brand new restaurant that you could swear you've been to before, or having a conversation where you freeze in mid-sentence as the eerie feeling of deja vu washes over you, there is an 'awareness' that you've experienced this moment before.

Considered to be a paranormal phenomenon, deja vu may be the most widely reported sixth sense ability to be documented and experienced by both men and women of all ages, races and lifestyles. What is deja vu? Have we stepped out of the three dimensional time loop on the earth plane into the realm where all time exists and occurs concurrently? Are we having a psychic flash, a moment where we are experiencing our future and past simultaneously? Or perhaps we've experienced this moment in a parallel reality and this is why it appears familar.

In the new book, The DeJa Vu Enigma: A Journey Through the Anomalies of Mind, Memory and Time, author Marie D. Jones explores the concept of deja vu with her co-author Larry Flaxman. Together they research the history of deja vu, up to current scientific studies and research including an overview of brain disorders and situations which affect the way the brain works and processes information including: PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), Sleep Paralysis, Amnesia, Multiple Personality Disorders and Mass Hysteria. Jones and Flaxman also discuss levels of consciousness, OBE's and NDE's (out of body experiences and near-death experiences), the power of the mind, ancient belief symptoms and the effect of spells.

The Deja Vu Enigma delves into the unexplained mysteries of the mind including:

• Memory lapses, missing time, and fugue states.
• The brain as both receiver and transmitter of reality.
• Altered states of perception and consciousness, from hallucinations to religious visions.
• Contagious thought, curses, and demonic possession
• Dream states, lucid dreaming, and precognitive dreams
• The grid and parallel universes as travel routes for mind trips, brain flips, and time slips.

Mystics discuss the effect currently being felt by many that the concept of time appears to be speeding up, perhaps to the point that third dimensional time on the earth plane will seize to exist in the future.
