Do you decorate for Valentine's day?

Seems you either do or do not decorate for Valentine's Day.  If you do, are wondering what to do for this Valentine’s Day that will add some color to your winter-laden home decorating?  It isn’t necessary to spend tons of money on decorations for your home.  Following are some ideas to show your loved ones you care without breaking the bank.

  • Set a heartwarming table for your Valentine with a pretty, shabby chic look. Use a lace tablecloth over a dreamy soft, red or pink fabric. Don’t have a lace tablecloth or have lots of kids and a lace tablecloth won't work?  Place a washable table runner down the center of your table then decorate with coordinating heart shaped candle holders, a white wicker basket of chocolates or a vase of red roses.  Serve a warm meal and voile, you are showing some instant love.
  •  Fresh flowers can add to the mood and if beautiful flower shop arrangements are not in the budget, check out your local retailers like Walmart, Fred Meyer, etc. for a decent selection of flowers.  If you want flowers that last longer than a week or two, consider using silk florals.  They are beautiful and can be saved from year to year.

  • JoAnn Crafts has some great Valentine’s projects that you and your family can create too.  Speaking of creating, check out the free cards you can create like this one by HPAvery has some very cute and free Valentine’s items you can use to decorate your home too.
  • Don’t want to make your own Valentine’s decorations?  Real Deals is featuring their décor right now with some good deals.  Most of the big retail stores are trying to sell their stock right now and you can pick up some really cute Valentine's decorations at a good price.  Let your imagination flow and use what you have around the house.

Remember, it is not the price that is spent, it is the thought that counts.  Show your loved ones you care this Valentine’s Day with some simple, hand-made decorations and a warm, home-made meal.  It could mean as much to your loved one as that expensive restaurant meal.
