Do this week: liquor at the library for Dewey After Hours

Though the words may sound similar, libations and the library don’t often go together. That all changes this week, when the Denver Public Library hosts “Dewey After Hours: Mixology at the Library,” part of a series of non-traditional offerings by Friends of the Denver Public Library at Central Branch downtown (map.)

The event features signature appetizers and specialty cocktails created by expert drink-slingers from some of Denver’s favorite alcohol-serving establishments, including the appropriately named “Whispertini" from Baur’s Ristorante. Other sponsors include Dazzle, Trios Enoteca, City O’ City and the Squeaky Bean, each pouring a different invention to be judged by guests.

The event runs from 5:30 until 7:30 pm March 25th on the Central Branch’s 7th floor. Tickets are $35 and benefit the Summer of Reading, the library’s youth literacy program.
