For some not so average fun, some of the local libraries have a couple of nice events going on that you might be interested in and guess what, they're free, free, free! Over at the Rochambeau library in Providence they have the Lego Club activity from 3:30pm to 5:00pm today. The library will supply the building blocks and your children will supply the imagination and the creativity. The event is free and is geared towards children ages 7 and up, but those who are younger may still come with an adult. Check out their website for more details at www.ProvComLib.org.
If that's a little too active for you then how about a nice book next to the fireplace and roasting some marshmallows. Wow! That's what's happening all day today at the Willett Free Library in Saunderstown. Books, food, family and free what a great combination. The afternoon marshmallows by the fire will be there every Thursday throughout the winter season. Be sure to check out their website for more details at www.WillettFree.org.
Then look out this weekend because Valentines Day is early. Dad and the family can spend Saturday sprucing up their own specially designed Valentine gifts at "Valentine Madness" a family workshop taking place in the Providence Athenaeum from 2-3pm. For the small cost of $5 all of your craft supplies are provided for you to produce a very special one of a kind Valentine! Be sure to register by calling 401-421-6970 and you can find more details on their website at www.ProvidenceAthenaeum.org.
