I often find myself here wondering if anyone in this world has a life. Having been raised during a time when we had to make entertainment for ourselves and had only the mobility afforded us by a transistor radio to provide background music if any, today seems like truly a step into science fiction. And sadly, this is not for the better.
Currently I am involved with countless music related projects. They are at this stage in literary form as my current slate of clients is rather extensive to say the least. There are so many stories within rock and roll waiting to be told that finding time for something as trivial as a column, which in most cases on the web means nothing more than self-glorification, hardly seems like a pursuit that is worthy of my time. But my ego isn't as massive as most I suspect. I don't need to see my name listed on searches or in other silly places. I don't have pictures to accompany my stories because my preference leans toward writing not childish illustration. If I can't paint a picture with my words then I should not be writing.
As mentioned previously, I am working on two autobiographies for two very prominent individuals in the history of rock and roll.Though many won't know the names, those who are in the know will surely recognize their legacy.Dieter Dierks the Godfather of Krautrock as well as producer for many of the biggest names in melodic rock history will have his memoirs released this year if I have anything to do with it. We are in the process of finishing the story so it will most likely see bookshelves in the fall. Also, there is the story of one of the most prominent California bands on the late 1960's to be told. The Association and the story of one of their founders, Jim Yester, is soon to be written and published as well.
For many, music blogs or computer news is what the world is about. Sadly most of those people seem to be in need of direction since I'm constantly reminded that I don't put pictures or links or other things that honestly mean little to nothing to anyone with a life beyond the screen of a computer. I write for readers. I write with imagery and imagination. The pictures you will find are not painted with links but with words just as is the case with a song. Music is a canvas upon which many will paint. And so between us all, our melodies make the music that most will forever cherish generations into the future. Today's blog will be gone in minutes. Books and music are timeless and a kin one another. Experience a book... Listen to a CD or vinyl album... Immerse yourself in the beautiful feelings each brings to you. It is that which the world is all about.
