We think you're near Los Angeles

Do local media producers and editors dislike investigative reporting?

I do not watch local TV news very often. When I do check out the local news, all I see is sensationalism, fluff pieces, and generic national pieces. Print media seems to be almost as sad. There are some great reporters out there, but it seems like editors avoid juicy stories like the plague.

Baltimore politics is filled with some unbelievable stories and characters. Most of the time, it seems like the local media has a "boys will be boys" attitude toward our leaders. There are so many open secrets that the mainstream media refuses to even mention, and when they do mention them, they make them seem like such peculiarities are normal and we should accept them.

If certain editors and producers suddenly acquired some guts and started reporting what so many of us already know, then some of the so called "untouchable" old guard of Baltimore would find themselves in very embarrassing predicaments.

At least we have blogs.

Have a great weekend.
