Since Kristen Stewart looked like a miserable mess at the Oscars with her wild hair, bruised arm, and lame leg, it was probably hard for some fans not to wonder if she was jealous of the success of glam goddess Jennifer Lawrence. However, a Feb. 27 report by Hollywood Life claims that K-Stew and J-Law are actually good friends.
So why have there been rumors about a feud between the actresses? This might have something to do with them being the same age and the similar ways their careers took off -- both girls became household names by starring in extremely popular movies based on best-selling young adult novels. It’s easy to imagine Kristen Stewart feeling threatened by Jennifer Lawrence now that she doesn’t have “Twilight” as crutch. She’s going to have to start working really hard to prove herself while Jen should find it very easy to score plum roles since she’s now an Oscar-winning actress. And she also has the rest of the “The Hunger Games” movies helping to keep her name out there.
However, a mutual friend of the actresses claims that the friends have “hung out a bunch,” and an eyewitness says that Kristen tried to put rumors of a feud to rest by cheering like crazy when Jen won her Oscar. The gal pals have exchanged emails, and they both partied with Emma Watson at the Toronto Film Festival last year. The actresses also have something in common -- they’re both very klutzy. Kristen cut her foot before presenting an Oscar while Jen almost fell flat on her face before accepting her Oscar.
It’s probably still hard for some not to wonder if Kristen Stewart resents Jennifer Lawrence just a little. K-Stew was likely hoping that she would score a little critical acclaim by losing her top in the movie “On The Road,” but all she got was a mention in Seth MacFarlane’s song “We Saw Your Boobs.” Meanwhile Jen didn’t flash any flesh, but she managed to steal the Best Actress Oscar away from 86-year-old Emmanuelle Riva, whose incredible performance in “Amour” also included a little nudity. And while Jen is basking in the glow of her success, Kristen is still trying to save her image and salvage her relationship with Robert Pattinson after being ridiculed for cheating on him with director Rupert Sanders.
But just like the Academy, Kristen might find it hard not to love Jen -- the “Catching Fire” star doesn’t seem like she has a mean bone in her body, and she is extremely entertaining to listen to. Since Jen seems like such a fun gal and since Hollywood loves her so much, she might actually be just the friend that Kristen needs in her life right now. She could turn K-Stew’s frown upside down and even recommend her for some of the good movie roles that she has to turn down -- she’ll be too tied-up with director David O. Russell and “The Hunger Games” movies to accept all the great parts that are offered to her.
So do you think that K-Stew and J-Law will stay friends forever, or will they become feuding frenemies the moment they become interested in the same movie role?
