The John Lennon Box of Vision contains an interactive element with two blank CDs and a blank DVD that will allow you to create your own audio and video museum of John Lennon. The artwork for the discs, approved by Yoko Ono, is shown here and in the slideshow below.
As Lennon Box of Vision creator Jonathan Polk told us, "In sticking with the 'time capsule' theme, I thought this would be a good way for each fan to create their own 'time capsule' and include whatever video or audio they wanted in their copy. Of course, it is also good for creating your own compilations to store inside, or for downloading (legally, please) and storing any of John's albums."
This do-it-yourself element also fits in with Yoko Ono's artistic vision in projects like the wish trees. We haven't heard of any way for fans to display the assembled content yet so others could appreciate the ideas used, but it might be an interesting idea.
As we reported previously, the box will hold all of John Lennon’s official CD releases, including the new remastered albums, up to 32 different CDs. It will contain a booklet with album artwork and a full color discography.

Comments
At $94 for international shipping this almost doubles the price of the item, sadly I wont be buying it.
Imagine no possessions. That's Yoko's message -- except for when it comes to the purchase of possessions that will further line her pocket.
Steve: actually there will be two DVDs and @ CDs. There is one DVD that I have not released the artwork for yet. Sorry for any confusion. Additional art to come soon.
Anita: I dont know where you live, but: If youa re in the UK/Europe, by the time the product ships we will have local shipping in place and pre-orders shipping charges will be adjusted down to reflect this. Also, EMI will be distributing a limited amount of copies at retail around the world in Ocotober, so hopefully you can get a copy there...
Sigh-- i should not really dignify the silly comment, but why not: this is a piece I created for fans and received permission to do. If you do some very simple math I think you can figure out that this project will not be lining anyone's pockets. As a fan (if you are) you should be applauding the fact that a quality product honoring John's legacy is being made available (and at a price way below what most publishers would charge for a comparable piece).
That should have read: 2 recordable DVDs and 2 recordable CDs. FOur different pieces, all with different artwork.
Sorry but I'm not buying it. Tell me, will a big chunk of the photos include May Pang, and quotes from her? That period of John's life, with May Pang, was his most productive as a solo artist. And yet, I'd bet my meager savings account that she's virtually invisible in your "Box of Vision." Because May Pang doesn't fit neatly into the Yoko-controlled myth of Lennon. It's not honest.
Will there be a George Harrison Box of Vision? And a Paul McCartney Box of Vision? I'm a bigger fan of George's and Paul's solo work than I am of Lennon's so it would be great to have this kind of photo book, etc., for George and Paul, too.
Reviews of Mr. Polk's 'Box of Vision,' up to July 30th have never included a fan-interactive element.
The words to promote the 'Box of Vision' were lifted directly from another author's book's content which was copyrighted in 2001.
Furthermore, the author is about to release an interactive DVD that has been in production for the last 10 years.
The author's book made it's debut in December of 2009 at the flagship store of Bloomingdale's, in NYC and it was widely discussed on the Internet; including being reviewed positively here by Mr. Marinucci.
The author's DVD will show fans content in the present, in the NOW, and they do not have to wait for 30 years to have it unearthed from a Time Capsule.
Ms. Yoko Ono was invited to take part in this project but her lawyer said that 'she is too busy.'
How is this content unique, when its already been done and published? And not even credit to a budding author who is not a celebrity.
Judith does an AMAZING JOB!
