If President Reagan could give turkeys a pardon one day a year, so can we.
Thanksgiving is the time to give thanks. Thanks for our families, thanks for the scrumptious food on our tables, thanks for another day above ground.
That's all well and good, but what the heck do conservatives have to be thankful for this year? Despite the Obama Administration and the Democrats' Porkulus Bill, Cap and Tax and the bogus Health Care Reform Bill, there are a few things we can celebrate.
The fraudulent science behind global warming is finally surfacing, in a grand debacle known as "Climategate." While the MSM is taking its sweet time reporting the story, the net is abuzz with leaked emails proving a cover-up of global proportions. So-called respected scientists apparently buried the real science with voodoo statistics and bogus facts to make it look like the Earth is warming, or cooling, or changing because of mankind's penchant for more power. Turns out it's not true, a fact even my kids know. When their little friends whine about melting icecaps, my kids remind them that ice cubes normally melt in water.
Sarah's b-a-a-ck and infuriating the MSM, liberals and power brokers in Washington. Palin is not following any of their rules, explifying her "going rogue" persona, and she's more popular and happier than ever. Palin's book went number one before the first edition was even printed. People are standing in lines for hours and even overnight just to get 15 seconds with her. The media is in a feeding frenzy, only this time Citizen Palin is following her own script, unafraid to aim at anything she deems fair game. Katie Couric and Oprah may want to heed Sarah's warning, "I haven't quit... I've just reloaded."
To get the Health Care Reform Bill to the Senate floor for debate, Harry Reid bribed Louisiana's Mary Landrieu with a $300M earmark, paid for by the American taxpayers. Such a bold, borderline pimpin' move won't add to his popularity at home, where mutinous Nevadans are plotting to end his 24-year-reign of embarrassment and Silver State neglect.
Harvard's Medical School Dean and Obama's own CMS agree the health care reform bill won't fix our health care problems. Instead of FOX, Rush, Hannity and Beck talking smack about the bill, the rich, white liberal elite are making arguments for the conservative side. Oh happy day!
The health care bill taxes everyone, not just the rich. Medical equipment, wheel chairs, cosmetic treatments like Pelosi's Botox will all cost more. Too bad she's so rich it won't affect her. Guess we won't get to watch her grow old and decrepit overnight, darn it.
Conservative wins in the New Jersey and Virginia governor races show the political tide is turning red, blood red. A recount in NY-23 is showing that race might not be a liberal win after all, since 10,000 absentee ballots weren't counted, and numerous vote tallies may have been incorrectly reported on election night.
Yes, it has been a tough year for conservatives in exile. But hundreds of tea party protests across the nation and a million tax-person march on the Capitol inspired our spirits and rejuvenated our God-given right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We, the conservative people of America, are mad as Hell with Obama, Congress and liberals in general, and we're not going to lie down and take it.
But we are going to take a break from politics just for a day, to go back for seconds and desert. We need to fortify ourselves for the health care fight ahead. Turkey and pumpkin pie only taste this good once a year, and we've got our eyes on a juicy leg. The right one, of course.

Wacko.. thats all there is to say.. your a wacko
our govenment is the tool we use for problems we can't fix by ourselves. We are free to walk and breath on our own becase of goverment-mandated polio vaccinations. We are free of salmonella and botulism because of big- government regulations on food and water. We are free to earn a good living at an interesting job because we are hard workers and because the govenment backed student loans. Conservatives argued that FDR's New Deal and LBJ Medicaid would destroy our Freedoms. Neither prediction came true. We know big government "with common sense" can increase Liberty because it already has. If the Auto Businesses can change their ways why not the Banks on Wall Street and Corporations that sent jobs overseas to pay less in wages, but charge USA same high prices here Then Corporations and Labor Unions should use their knowledge to bring back some industries of much needed manufacturing to our Country. GOP shd think of others for change.
@ Virginia & Hoosier Dem: The only people who are "wacko" are you two! There is no problem, from education to inoculations to food inspection to food poisoning where government solutions are as good a private solutions. Look, for example at California education - the highest per capita spend and the lowest, most dismal results. The "free[dom] to earn a good living" evaporated when government stopped enforcing our immigration laws; there are now 2.5 million undocumented democrats invading our shores each year putting about 2.5 million Americans out of work. The housing crisis, as we all know, was caused by bigwig politicians who forced banks to make loans to uncreditworthy buyers in the name of social justice - and, again, primarily to undocumented democrats. Government-backed student loans are an abysmal failure because such are given out to illegal aliens (sorry, undocumented democrats) while our own citizens are denied such loans. The New Deal was undone long ago by Reagan!
