DMACC will host the 2014 Swine Festival on June 7

Swine: Where Cork Meets Pork.

The 8th Annual Swine Festival will be held on Saturday, June 7 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the Ankeny Campus of Des Moines Area Community College. The festival will set up between the Iowa Culinary Institute (Building 7), the Iowa Energy Center, and the lake. The event "where cork meets pork" will feature gourmet offerings from some of the Des Moines Metro area's top chefs and samples of wines from a number of Iowa wineries. The 2014 Swine Festival will also feature live music from the acoustic cover band The Guilty Pleasures. The 2000 tickets for the event are $40 in advance, and they may be purchased online through Tikly. If the event does not sell out (last year did), any remaining tickets will be sold at the door for $45. Your ticket includes one free bottle of wine of your choosing from those sold and sampled at the event and a commemorative wine glass as well. Proceeds from the event go to the Iowa Culinary Institute's viticulture and enology program. In the case of inclement weather, the festival will be moved inside DMACC's Iowa Culinary Institute.
