'Django Unchained' and 'Ted' lead 2013 MTV Movie Award nominations

Movie fans who have had the stomach to sit through the MTV Movie Awards over the past few years have wondered what the show will be like when the "Twilight" movies have had their run. Those same movie fans are celebrating a year early. MTV officially announced the nominees for their 2013 Movie Awards extravaganza on Wednesday and "Twilight: Breaking Dawn part 2", the final film in the "Twilight Saga", was not as well represented as it has been over the several shows.

The Mandarin, Stark's Iron Legion make debut in new 'Iron Man 3' trailer

Quentin Tarantino's revenge western "Django Unchained" and Seth MacFarlane's live action debut, "Ted", scored the most nominations with seven nominations each including a spot in the battle for Movie of the Year. The battle for Movie of the Year also includes "The Avengers", "The Dark Knight Rises" and "Silver Linings Playbook".

There are two new categories at the MTV Movie Awards this year. The popularity of Channing Tatum and the dismal "Magic Mike" no doubt inspired the Best Shirtless Performance Category. Tatum is up against Christian Bale and a digitally animated stuffed bear in that category. Then there is the Best Musical Moment category featuring Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway and 2013 MTV Movie Award host Rebel Wilson -- oh, and Channing Tatum.
