Quentin Tarantino is one of my favorite directors. His movies give you pause but also keep you on the edge of your seats. He did not disappoint with "Django Unchained" which was nominated for Best Picture and won Best Screenplay at the 2013 Golden Globes. Quentin Tarantino is never afraid to address critics or even silence those who allow controversy to make them feel awkward.
What I'd like to bring your attention to is the fact that any of our names could have headlined in similar fashion: Leslie Unchained, Nicole Unchained, Shawn Unchained. I'm not saying that anyone would want to take the place of Jamie Foxx in the film; however, I am saying that we can break the chains that hold us to our past.
Unchain yourself from the opinions and perceptions of others. Unchain yourself from what appears to be the only future for you because of your "station" in life. Unchain yourself from any limitations due to culture or based on any boxes that have been placed on you because of color, gender, ethnicity, physical limitations, educational background, marital status or anything else. There is power in the name of Jesus to break every chain. Live a life free from bondage because whom the Son sets free is free indeed!
