DJ Champion will get a Metropolis crowd moving on 01.28.10 to the beat of some brand new sounds from his latest album, Resistance, as well as his more familiar hits like No Heaven and The Plow from Chill’Em All, the album that won him an ADISQ Félix award for Album of the Year in 2005 and a Juno nomination for Best Dance Recording in 2006.
After a period of isolation from the club and music scene, Champion focused his creative energy on producing a sound different from that of his debut album, and emerged with Resistance (released on 09.15.09). The new album is slightly darker, heavier and even tranc-ier than Chill’Em All, complete with Champion’s signature guitar riffs, tantalizing electro beats and a collaboration with Montreal-based vocalist Pilou. Champion (& ses G-strings, the musicians who accompany him on stage), will surely be back with even more energy after their temporary leave of absence from the performing world.
Be seduced by their rock-inspired electro on 01.28.10 at Metropolis. Tickets are $30.
Champion et ses G-strings will also be launching the festivities of Carnaval de Québec, on 01.29.10, on the Plains of Abraham, Quebec City.
You can also catch Champion’s live performance at Studio 12 (Radio-Canada) on 02.03.10.
