The Orlando Home show has been a fall staple in the Central Florida landscape for over a decade. Exhibitors and vendors have always played a vital role revealing new and upcoming products, services and technologies, as well as playing host to contests, trends, and celebrities.
Celebrities this year include Josh Flagg of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles and one of the residential real estate industry’s heaviest hitters, who shares insights and tips on home improvement must-dos, whether planning to sell your home in the next few years or enjoying it for the next decade. Emily Ellyn brings her retro recipe re-do’s to the Edible Orlando Cooking Stage. Her unique style of cooking has made her a fan favorite on Food Network’s Next Food Network Star and Cupcake Wars and gave her a cameo appearance on The Simpsons.
One of the show highlights this year include four different rooms designed by students from the International Academy of Design and Technology. Using a budget of $350 they repurpose, restore and recycle 70% of the furnishings in each room. Dan Louche of Tiny Home Builders will also be showcasing two of his 160-square-foot tiny homes, and celebrities and experts, alike, will appear daily on the main stage where you can ask remodeling, renovation, and DIY tips and tricks.
This fall’s show is further enhanced by delivering on a frequent guest request: DIY workshops. Yours truly will be demonstrating four DIY projects that can be completed in as little as an afternoon or as much as a weekend focusing on home-helpful activities such as plumbing, soldering and gardening. If you can’t wait for the show you can always visit the Home and Garden Blog. There, an expansive database of vendor products and fun projects await your DIY binge. Hope to see you there.
