Mollie Makes series

Another book has been added to the 'Mollie Makes' series. This one is, "Mollie Makes Woodland Friends" more handmade projects for the home, inspired by the woods and the creatures who live in them. The are 20 + projects from 10 different designers. If you are a DIY'er you will find just the right craft to complete a project for you, your home or as a gift.

There are various projects for those who like to knit, crochet, embroidery, sew, paper cut and more. The book is hard covered with clear written instructions and step by step photographs. It is all about making, thrifting, collecting, crafting projects plus tips to making it come together with ease.

Capri Hulsey has designed crochet amigurumi woodland creatures of chipmunks, badgers and wolves, sized 5" high and 6" long. Need a jewelry holder or a cardboard sculpture for your wall? 'Stag Head' is a project by Clare Young. Hung on your wall or sitting on your is sure to get noticed. It has that tongue-in-cheek aura of the contemporary "design" hunter.

The 'Flying Fox' is perfect knit for the extremely cold weather we have been having. It would also work to keep out an oppresively warm draft of outside air, when the air conditioner is on. The fox extends 35 1/2", not including the tail with a circumference of 12". For the sewer there is a 'Foxy Sleep Mask'. The designer Kristy Neale specializes in fabric. This foxy little mask would be perfect to carry in your bag for your next plane flight. It would allow you to catch your forty winks. Don't be surprised if you get asked about it.

If you haven't tried some of these crafts is the opportunity to give them a try. You just might find a new favorite. Try out some free patterns from Mollie Makes to enjoy and get you started.
