Salt scrubs and sugar scrubs work wonders to soften skin and exfoliate dead skins cells. But the prices in the stores are outrageous! Here are several recipes so you can make your own, for pennies. And remember, they make fantastic gifts!
Salt scrubs tend to be more coarse, while sugar scrubs are gentler and recommended for sensitive skin. Keep in mind the type of salt you use will also make a difference, large crystal sea salt is more coarse than finely ground.
As for sugar, you can use plain white sugar or brown sugar.
