With more than 1,000 entries submitted, DIY Network has selected four of its five finalists for its nationwide Stud Finder search for America’s next home improvement star:
Andrew Mazzella, Alaska commercial salmon and crab fisherman (Bozeman, Mont.); Kayleen McCable, community service program director (Denver, Colo.); Warren Seegers, U.S. Army Reserves drill sergeant and digital media instructor (Goshen, Ind.); and Paul Francisco, Web developer and musician (Nashville, Tenn.). And beginning today, the fifth finalist is up to America.
Until Monday, Aug. 31, viewers can log on to DIYNetwork.com to vote for one of three semi-finalists – Brendan McKiernan Flahive, home electronic salesman (Tempe, Ariz.); Daniel Faires, landscape foreman (Nashville, Tenn.); and Mace Lombardo, carpenter (Silver Lake, Calif.) – to determine who has the charisma and chops to join the talented roster of DIY Network expert hosts. Once selected, the winner will compete with the other four finalists in a head-to-head competition that will ultimately end in the naming of America’s newest home improvement star and a do-it-yourselfer’s dream job – hosting a DIY Network show. All of this and more will be documented in an hour-long special, hosted by former Stud Finder finalist and DIY Network host and licensed contractor Matt Blashaw (Deconstruction, Project Xtreme), premiering in mid-November 2009.
