This video is a quick tutorial on how to make your own custom lip color. It is a very simple, fun way to make lip colors unique to your inventory. For colorants, you can use existing iron oxides, micas, and dyes. Only FD&C Blue 1, Red 40, and Yellow 5 are both lip and eye safe in the United States, according to the Food and Drug Administration. Other dyes are deemed lip safe, but they are not also eye safe. A lot of other colorant options are not safe for the lip area. When making custom lip color, please become familiar with colorants that are considered lip safe!
