DIY Black and White Trend (Photos)

One of my favorite trends for this year is the bold black and white fashions. Mixing patterns but keeping the colors only black and white makes even the most bold statement. Referring to it as Mod or Graphic or Contemporary…any way you look at it, it’s timeless! And what a great contrast to wear on Valentine’s Day!

Trinkets in Bloom happened to have a great tutorial on making your own color blocked graphic b&w shirt! The combination of the button version with the plain is a cute spin on a plain shirt.

A pair and a spare was inspired by Balenciaga’s Spring line and her version of the ruffled, asymmetrical hem line black and white skirt is spot on! Adorable with a great tutorial, it fits perfectly with the trends for this year.

Chicisimo found a great black and white ombre style T that can serve as inspiration to take any existing white piece and “dip” it into black dye and give it a little organic color blocking style.

Lastly, Chic Steals recreates a Chanel inspired cape from 2 men’s sweatshirts. The “ruffle” connection it makes based on the way the fabric responds to being sewn is a small detail that makes it very feminine.

The only thing more “sweet” than these black and white fashions would be a black and white cookie!
