An autumn wedding is the perfect time to incorporate apples into your wedding theme. With vibrant colors and a wide variety to choose from, apples are versatile ingredients to dress up any wedding.

A simple and fun apple-themed centerpiece can be made out of a bushel basket, cloth napkin, and apples. You can also label your tables by placing a numbered stake in the basket. The apples pictured in the centerpiece are from the Milk Pail Market in Mountain View, which always has the best prices in produce!

Materials:

  • bushel basket (available at general craft stores such as Michael’s)
  • square cloth napkin (or hemmed fabric of your choice)
  • apples
  • wooden stake
  • cardstock for table numbers
  • basket filler (optional)

Steps:

  1. Line basket with napkin.
  2. (Optional) Fill basket with basket filler (shredded paper, old newspaper, etc.)
  3. Step 3: Glue cardstock with table numbers to wooden stake. Add more uniformity to your centerpiece by imitating the patterned cloth on your cardstock. Pictured above, a checkered border printed onto cardstock reflects the same checkered fabric in the basket.
  4. Place stake in the center of the basket.
  5. Arrange apples in the basket around the stake.

Have fun!
