Dixie Chick goes solo: Natalie Maines takes the stage alone

Dixie Check singer Natalie Maines is going solo. The country songbird has decided to take the stage alone, and try her hand a lone music career, The Inquisitr reported on Mar. 16.

According to the report, Dixie Chick Natalie Maines went solo on stage at the South By Southwest music festival in Texas.

Maines has had a bit of a controversial career, and has been slammed for many things in the press, most famously, slamming former President George Bush.

The solo Dixie Check says she’s embracing the chance to step out alone and find her own voice away from her band mates. "I think I thought time would heal and that I would come around. But just like the song says, I’m still waiting,” Natalie Maines revealed.

It’s unclear on whether the Dixie Chicks will ever perform together on stage again. But, for now, Natalie Maines is going solo, and releasing her first bit of music since 2006.
