Richard Dombroff, 22, of 516 Half Hollow Road, surrendered himself Oct. 21 to First Squad detectives after learning he was under investigation in connection with the robberies, police said.
Police allege Dombroff went to the CVS Pharmacy at 1944 Deer Park Ave. on Sept. 22 and jumped over a pharmacy counter demanding prescription medication. He fled the scene after forcibly stealing the pills, cops said.
Two weeks later, on Oct. 6, Dombroff allegedly pulled off the same robbery by entering the same CVS location in Deer Park. During that robbery, he allegedly jumped over the counter again and grabbed a pharmacy clerk while demanding pills. After he forcibly took the medication, he fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV, police said.
Police released surveillence images from the Oct. 6 robbery in a crime alert the next day. It was unclear if that played a factor in identifying Dombroff.
Dombroff was charged with first-degree and third-degree robbery. He is due to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
