It's no secret that Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian's estranged husband, wants an annulment, not a divorce, and won't grant Kardashian a swift complete exodus from the marriage without that. However, on Wednesday, sources said that the dragging out of the legal battle may be putting Kardashian's baby -- with Kanye West -- at risk.
Sources familiar with the situation said that Kardashian called her physician several days ago -- in the middle of the night -- complaining of severe pains. She asked him to come to her house, which is interesting because John and Jane Q. Public could never get a doctor to make a house call, at least in the U.S. Her doctor examined her, but then told her he believed the problems were mostly stress-related.
What could be causing the stress? According to those same sources, it would seem that the only real -- and significant -- stress in her life at this time is the Humphries divorce.
They added that hours before her meeting on Tuesday with her lawyer, Laura Wasser, her pains returned.
While the doctor did not elaborate, he warned Kardashian that she needs to handle the stress better or else there may be "long-term effects" for the baby. Despite the lack of detail, Kardashian is definitely concerned about the warning.
On Tuesday, Humphries' attorney Marshall Waller filed documents that addressed Kim Kardashian's pregnancy as "unplanned," which she has previously admitted, saying:
What is really going on here is that an "urgency" in the form of an apparently unplanned pregnancy, something [Humphries] had nothing to do with, is perceived by [Kim] as an opportunity to gain a litigation advantage by trying to force this court to prematurely set this matter for trial.
Earlier reports estimated that due to the timing and the NBA season, the divorce will probably not be settled prior to the baby's birth.
