The top ten reasons for divorce are:
1) Financial problems and the lack of communication about finances.
2) Communication problems- if a couple have communication problems then it is most likely to affect the couple even more than after tying the knot.
3) Family problems which can consist of siblings, in-laws, and even step children.
4) Sex related problems, sex is an important part of any marriage.
5) Friend problems- either spouse does not like a certain friend that belongs to their spouse; a good friend will always enhance a friend’s marriage.
6) Addiction problems, whether it is pornography, drugs, or even alcohol can cause a marriage to crumble.
7) Abuse problems which can be any type of abuse whether it is verbal to physical abuse. 8) Personal problems can be where the couple isn’t compatible.

During the past twenty years the Utah divorce rate has climbed rapidly. Among those years Utah has managed to stay in the top ten states in America with one of the highest divorce rates. This is partially because younger adults marry at a younger age in the state of Utah. In the year 2005 Salt Lake County had the second highest divorce rate of 4.2 per 1,000 in the Utah population, when during that same year Carbon County had the highest divorce rate of 6.2 per 1,000. Many people believe that it has something to do with the LDS church and their beliefs in marriage. Although the real question may be, is that the real reason for the high divorce rate in the state of Utah?
