Divine Reserve #13: Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines

Crowded grocery and beverage store aisles…..anxious individuals asking questions….people sprinting from the parking lot in a mad dash. What could be going on? Is a hurricane about to strike? Is a famous Hollywood star making a local appearance? No, it is something much different but equally dramatic: The release of Saint Arnold Brewery’s latest Divine Reserve beer. Here are some facts about this monumental occasion:

Brewery: Saint Arnold, the oldest craft brewery in Texas

Beer Release: Divine Reserve No. 13

When: Monday, March 18, 2013

Type of Beer: Belgian Quadrupel

Each Saint Arnold Divine Reserve release is highly anticipated and greatly sought after, and this release promises more of the same. The beer will be delivered starting on Monday, March 18, 2013, but not all stores will receive their allotment on the first day. Some will receive it later in the week, so guests need to ask their favorite beer retailer when to expect shipment.

For those who would rather taste Divine Reserve on tap and avoid fighting the crowds at stores, Saint Arnold Brewery has announced the following Houston area tappings involving DR 13 and related special events:

Cottonwood- Monday, March 18 at 6 p.m., Cottonwood will tap a cask and keg of Divine Reserve #13. The party will include not just the beer, but also live music from the Wandering Buffaleros and Saint Arnold Prizes.

BRC- This event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20, starting at 5:30 p.m. It will include a pig dinner along with the tapping of a full keg of DR13.

Guru Burgers and Crepes- Set for Thursday, March 21, at 6 p.m., this tapping will also include the release of a custom Guru Burgers/Saint Arnold collaboration growler to benefit the activist organization Open the Taps.

The King’s Head Pub- Tapping scheduled for Thursday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m.

The Backyard Grill- Tapping scheduled for Friday, March 22 at 6:30 p.m.

Mucky Duck- An event not to miss if you want to sample past Divine Reserve releases, it begins with a tapping of DR 13 at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Divine Reserve Beer Brunch featuring Divine Reserve #9 through #12, along with Saint Arnold’s Bishop’s Barrel No. 1.

Washington Drinkery- This tapping will take place on Saturday, April 6 at 7 p.m. and will feature a blackjack charity card tournament featuring DR 13, with proceeds going to help local kids purchase school supplies.

The above seven events represent a great opportunity for Saint Arnold Divine Reserve fans to sample some DR13 with a little less frustration. Of course, there are plenty of Saint Arnold fans who look forward to the race from store to store in search of the latest Divine Reserve release, but it is nice to know that Saint Arnold will deliver a good deal of its latest Divine Reserve to area taverns/restaurants and that interested consumers can get some of this hard- to- find beer without investing so much time and effort.

Divine Reserve releases are one of the craft beer highlights of the year in the Houston area and this release promises to be just as hotly anticipated as the rest. Fill the tank of your car, chart a course, and have fun seeking out a six pack or two of Divine Release 13 on Monday, March 18, 2013. It will take some effort, but as with past DR releases, the rewards will be worth it in the end.
