'Divergent' movie news: Casting updates, Alexander Ludwig auditions for Four? (Video)

Casting for the “Divergent” movie is turning out to be a very strong one this week, with the potential for an actor from another popular young adult film franchise. Hypable reported this Monday, March 11, that Alexander Ludwig of “The Hunger Games” recently took to Twitter to say he was performing a screen test for “Divergent”, thought the tweet was later deleted.

The “Divergent” movie fandom for casting was buzzing earlier this week after Alexander Ludwig wrote via Twitter:

“Screen testing for Divergent today,” said the tweet that was deleted a bit later.

While many fans understandably quickly wondered if Ludwig had auditioned for the still un-cast role of Four, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. The actor later took to Twitter to confirm that he did not screen test for the part of Four, adding that the role would be too similar to his in “The Hunger Games.”

Some of the confirmed actors and actresses in “Divergent” include Shailene Woodley as Tris and Kate Winslet (her role isn’t certain yet, though many suspect her to play Tris’ mother). Maggie Q. has most recently signed on to star as Tori, a known tattooist among the Dauntless. Zoe Kravitz will star as Christina, the best friend of Tris, while relative newcomer Ansel Elgort is playing Tris’ brother, Caleb.
