'Divergent' movie casting news: Kate Winslet signs on to play Jeanine Matthews

With Theo James confirmed to be cast as Four in the “Divergent” movie only last week, Dread Central revealed more exciting news this Thursday, March 21, stating that Kate Winslet has officially joined the cast of the hotly anticipated YA novel-into-film as Jeanine Matthews.

Although Kate Winslet has long been rumored to be in talks for “Divergent”, it was only this afternoon that an official press release was announced that the “Titanic” actress has signed on for Veronica Roth’s adaptation.

There were several questions as to whom Kate Winslet might be playing in the already star-studded cast, but that answer has also been fortunately given to fellow “Divergent” movie fans.

Alongside Shailene Woodley as Tris, the Inquisitr reported this Thursday that Kate Winslet will play Jeanine Matthews, the powerful leader of the Erudite group. Do you similarly feel the talented actress will be a great addition in the role?

Beginning film production for “Divergent” is said to begin this April in Chicago, so stay tuned for more exciting movie news!
