Recently, local design program Divas Dressing Darlings, held their annual fashion photo shoot and show at Vibes Unlimited Studio in honor of their 2014 collection of dresses. These dresses are sent via Hope 4 Kids International's "Dress a Girl Around the World" program and delivered to little girls living in Africa. The Little Rock-based Divas Dressing Darlings group is organized by Compassion Fashion and is in its fourth year of international philanthropy work.
This year's group of designers included Cathy Hill, Chavon Shree, Edward S. Coleman Designs, N’cholé Féroce, Nichelle Terry, AnJanell, LOVE R.O.C.S., Richie Clark Clothing, NAJO Creations and Nancy Tucker. In year one, the group sent dresses the via the nonprofit - Little Dresses for Africa, in year two dresses were sent through the surgical group from Arkansas Children's Hospital - Change of Face, in year three Compassion Fashion partnered with Hope 4 Kids International and now again in year four for 2014. To add to the festivities, Compassion Fashion invited Korto Momolu from Project Runway to attend. Momolu's daughter, Alyse, served as one of the little diva models this year at the event.
The group's mission is to provide hope for little girls internationally through the outlet of fashion. The program began with one event to collect pillowcases for the designers to sew and has continued ever since. The amount of dresses sent continues to grow and volunteers who can sew are always welcome to join.
