Former NFL coach-turned sports broadcaster Mike Ditka fell asleep at the wheel during the Sunday NFL Countdown broadcast, reported Fox Sports on Dec. 29. MSN published video of the broadcast, which clearly shows a moment where Ditka falls asleep. Watch the video here. Thankfully for Ditka and the show's viewers, co-host Keyshawn Johnson nudged him and, consequently, woke him up. Johnson did not say anything to Ditka, who responded to the nudge with a somewhat jovial shrug of his shoulders. The broadcast went on without interruption or further mention of the incident..

Da Coach, as Ditka is fondly known, is 74 years old. After retiring from coaching in the NFL in the early 1990s, Ditka began his broadcast announcer career and he's been in front of the camera or the radio microphone ever since. He currently mans the announcer desk at ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown with fellow co-hosts Johnson, Chris Berman, Cris Carter, Tom Jackson and Ray Lewis.
