With the return of Yoga in the Park and the addition of Pilates in the Park, Highlands Ranch Metro District has expanded its free programs to improve mind and body while connecting with nature.

For the first time, the Metro District and IM=X Pilates Studio will offer Pilates in the Park. The program begins June 3 and will offer free classes at Civic Green Park from 8:15-9:15 a.m., every Tuesday through Aug. 26. The classes are open to all experience levels and can help participants increase strength, stability and toning. Additionally, Pilates can help with back pain and improve posture.

Yoga in the Park, presented by the Metro District and NamasteWorks Yoga, is back for its sixth year. Free classes begin May 31, and will be offered at Civic Green Park from 8:15-9:15 a.m., every Wednesday and Saturday through Aug. 16, with the exception of June 14 and July 26. The yoga classes are geared toward the beginner yogi, but instructors will offer modifications to make each pose or exercise more intense. It is free and open to guests 18 and older. Participants should arrive a few minutes early to complete a participant waiver form.

For either program, participants should bring a yoga mat, sunscreen and a water bottle.

Civic Green Park is located at 9370 Ridgeline Blvd., next to the Highlands Ranch Library. For more information about Pilates in the Park or Yoga in the Park, please contact the Metro District at 303-791-2710.
