On March 21, 2013, reports were rampant on the Internet that a child porn video was being shared at a rapid pace on Facebook. According to Fox 4 Kansas City, by late Thursday evening, the news media outlet had received a number of emails about the disturbing video appearing in the news feeds of users on the social media site.
The source of the video remains unknown, but the footage apparently shows a man trying to “engage in sexual acts with a young child,” reports Fox.
According to BuzzFeed, the video was first mentioned on Twitter in the early afternoon, and by late Thursday evening, more and more tweets appeared with various people expressing their outrage and disgust at the horrific video showing up in their Facebook feeds.
BuzzFeed reports that by that time, the child porn video had an unbelievable 16,000 shares.
Fox advises that that if the child porn video appears in a user’s feed, it should immediately be reported to Facebook and is not to be shared.
